NEW PARKING CONCEPT IN BISSEN STARTING SEPTEMBER 1, 2026
To improve parking management on several residential streets in Bissen, the municipal council approved, at its meeting on July 16, 2026, the establishment of blue-disc parking zones and the introduction of a residential parking permit.
The following streets are affected:
- An der Bléi
- Beim Park
- Chemin de Bousberg
- Camille Biver
- Maximilian Cajetan de Bertrand
- Dr. Jean-Pierre Ecker
- Jean Engel
- Martin Greisch
- Jean-Baptiste Kremer
- Charles-Frédéric Mersch
- Nicolas Schmitz
- Nic Sinner
- Michel Stoffel
- Jean Tautges
- des Muguets
- part of route de Roost (from house n° 68 to the intersection with rue Charles-Frederic Mersch (route de Roost House N° 12))
On streets designated for residential parking, the permit always entitles the holder to free parking without the indicated time limit.
Parking without a permit is still permitted, but requires the use of a blue parking disc Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a two-hour limit.
This parking system helps to:
- Prevent long-term parking (by commuters, for example).
- Ensure the rotation of public parking spaces.
- Promote sustainable mobility (walking, biking, etc.) and the use of public transportation.
If necessary, residential parking may be extended to other streets in Bissen.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A RESIDENTIAL PARKING PERMIT?
Car owners or holders who live at an address located within a residential parking zone are eligible for residential parking.
Each household located in a residential parking zone is entitled to three permits, each bearing one license plate number.
The first two permits are always free. The fee for the third permit is 60 euros for a full year.
Once issued, the permits are valid through August 31 of the following year. Free permits are automatically renewed as long as you continue to meet the requirements. Paid permits are renewed only if you request them.
GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE VIGNETTE
- Each application must be accompanied by a copy of the vehicle’s registration. For leased or rented vehicles, or company cars, a copy of the lease or rental agreement (for personal use) must also be included; for company cars provided for personal use, a certificate from the employer confirming such use must be attached.
- When replacing or changing vehicles, the old parking permit must be turned in to the municipal administration so that it can be updated.
- No license plate number may appear on more than one parking permit.
- The permits are valid only in Bissen within the designated area.
- The loss or theft of a parking permit must be reported to the municipality as soon as possible.
- If you move or sell your car, the parking permit must be returned to the municipality.
- A refund cannot be requested from the municipal administration if the holder waives their right to resident parking during the course of the year—for whatever reason. The same applies if the holder’s right is revoked by the municipal administration due to a violation of the resident parking regulations.
